Educate U

For pupils whose education has been disrupted by anxiety, autism, ADHD, attachment or trauma, Educate U builds the day around a carefully understood starting point. The Worthing school works with children aged 5 to 16 and treats education, therapeutic support and personal development as connected parts of the provision. Every pupil has an EHCP, so the plan is central to the work rather than an add-on.

Learning may follow a formal or semi-formal curriculum, with phonics, English, mathematics, PSHE, art, bespoke projects, ASDAN or KeySteps and outdoor learning all available within individual programmes. Planning and assessment respond to each pupil's starting point, with trauma-informed practice shaping how progress and readiness are approached.

The provision extends beyond the Chapel Road base. Reef Wood near Arundel provides Forest School, Liverpool Gardens is used for speech and language and occupational therapy, and Therapy House supports psychological and counselling work. These settings give the school a deliberately therapeutic shape, while keeping academic learning connected to communication, regulation and practical experience.

Entry is referral-led, with referrals accepted from education authorities, social workers, parents, foster agencies and current or previous schools. An EHCP and clear evidence of barriers to education form part of the admissions picture. At the November 2025 progress-monitoring inspection, every independent-school standard checked was met.
