Overview

Founded in 1992 as a tutorial college with a particular focus on medical and dental progression, Ealing Independent College remains a small co-educational day setting for students aged 13 to 19. Its scale and age range make it closer to a sixth-form college than an all-through school, with GCSE and sixth-form study at 83 New Broadway in Ealing.

Alongside GCSE courses, students can take two-year A levels, one-year intensive A levels or retake routes. Most sixth-form students study three or four subjects over two years, with options ranging from art and biology to economics, further mathematics, photography, physics, psychology and sociology. Subject teaching is joined to guidance on university, careers and internships.

Personal tutors, daily tutor contact and peer mentoring for Years 9-11 give the small setting a clear pastoral rhythm. The 2024 inspection also covered flexible GCSE and A-level pathways and individual teacher support. There is no boarding provision, so academic and pastoral life stays concentrated in the college's day programme.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. The current route is a tour and Principal's interview, with academic records brought to the meeting; a successful interview and satisfactory records lead to an offer, enrolment form and supporting documents. Earlier assessment and second-interview details are not retained because they came from an overdue policy.
