Overview

Founded in 1977, d'Overbroeck's combines an informal academic culture with day and boarding routes and an international community in Oxford. The co-educational school serves ages 11 to 19, giving the same community a senior school and Sixth Form while keeping residential options available at different stages.

Years 7 to 11 follow the English National Curriculum across core subjects, humanities, computing, creative subjects and sport. In Year 9, pupils choose languages or classical civilisation and begin separate sciences. GCSE pupils complete nine subjects and a Higher Project Qualification, while the Sixth Form offers 38 A-level subjects, four equivalent courses and an EPQ.

Boarding runs from ages 14 to 16 in the senior school and from 16 to 18 in the Sixth Form. Five houses provide residential and pastoral support, with weekly or termly boarding in the Sixth Form. Day pupils and students from more than 40 countries meet through trips, clubs and the wider life of the school.

Applications are made directly, with senior applicants completing a group or individual assessment that may include a two-hour cognitive abilities test. Sixth-form applicants meet the Sixth Form Leadership Team. Enquiry, an open event, application, assessment and interview form the route, with bursary assistance available for UK-based pupils.
