Founded in 1705 by Eleanor Allan, Dame Allan's Schools began with a commitment to educational opportunity and social purpose. Its Anglican foundation provides a moral framework. The vision emphasises integrity, generosity, resilience, curiosity and ambition in lessons, activities, friendships and service.
Dame Allan's spans early years to sixth form and is co-educational, welcoming pupils of all faiths and none. The senior and sixth-form campus is at Fowberry Crescent in Fenham. The curriculum becomes more specialised towards GCSE and A level, while the school continues to emphasise knowing and supporting each pupil.
Senior pupils study maths, English and sciences alongside languages, computing, design and technology, history, geography and religious studies. Music, art, drama, dance, PSHEE and food technology add practical dimensions. Fieldwork, laboratory investigations and design projects connect learning beyond lessons.
