Crosfields School

Crosfields began in 1957 as a Quaker boys' school of 100 pupils and has since become a co-educational day school on a 40-acre campus in Reading. It now takes children from age 2 to GCSE, with a Sixth Form due to open in 2027. The story is one of a school widening its community while keeping a clear sense of place and continuity.

Academic life is broad and deliberately exploratory, with independent thinking and enquiring minds alongside purposeful use of technology and creativity. Pupils are encouraged to solve problems, test ideas and build a foundation that can carry them through the later years. The planned Sixth Form will change the shape of the senior journey, so its opening date matters to families planning beyond GCSE.

More than 150 co-curricular activities cover sport, the arts, leadership, service and outdoor learning. Tutors, Heads of House and wellbeing specialists support the pastoral structure, while robotics, coding, debating, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and Forest School give pupils distinct ways to find an interest and take responsibility.

Admissions begin with a tour, registration, passport copy and recent report before an assessment morning. The process includes CAT4, a written task, group work and interview; scholarship and bursary applications use the same route. In March 2024, all relevant standards were met; the Sixth Form remains a future addition rather than current provision.
