Cransley School

Cransley brings Reception to Year 11 into one small co-educational community, where continuity matters as much as progression. Its three guiding ideas - seeking excellence, nurturing relationships and venturing beyond - fit a school in which academic ambition sits close to everyday knowledge of pupils. The Belmont Hall setting and Belmont Farm give the school a sense of place without making the grounds the whole story.

The curriculum follows a continuous spiral from the early years to GCSE, with junior and senior specialists working together so that knowledge and skills return at greater depth. Alongside the core subjects, pupils encounter music, science, creative arts, computing, physical education and drama. Careers work and senior study are part of the same gradual move towards independence.

Participation gives the week its variety. Specialist PE teaching runs across the age range, while athletics, football, rugby, rowing, gymnastics, fencing, tennis, swimming and chess sit alongside art and drama. Belmont Farm and the outdoor classroom add practical settings for learning, and the senior programme makes room for creativity as well as examination preparation.

Admissions differ by stage. Reception applicants follow a junior route, while senior applicants provide reports and attend familiarisation and assessment days involving English, mathematics, reasoning and classroom observation. Limited bursary support is available, and the 2023 routine inspection judged the relevant standards met.
