Coopersale Hall School

Founded in 1989, Coopersale Hall School has grown from an early-years and prep setting into a developing all-through school. The co-educational day-school model now spans ages 2 to 16, with senior pupils in Years 7 and 8 and the school extending its provision through the later years. That progression is part of its present character: pupils can continue rather than treating the prep years only as preparation for another school.

The curriculum combines practical science with broad academic study and tailored support for pupils with SEND. Music ensembles, drama productions, debating, sport and educational visits give the timetable a wider reach, while careers activity begins to make the senior years feel distinct. The school is still building that senior pathway, so the experience of a Year 7 or 8 pupil is especially relevant to families considering continuity.

Admission is handled directly. The current policy sets out taster days, interviews, references and previous-school reports for applicants from Year 1 to Year 9; Years 7 to 9 also sit English and mathematics entrance examinations. The normal route therefore includes both an academic assessment and a chance to see how the school works day to day.

The policy does not normally admit new pupils into Years 10 or 11. A later-entry enquiry needs to be checked directly rather than assumed from the overall 2-to-16 registration. This is a school in the process of extending its senior offer, with the exact year group and timing central to the application conversation.
