Overview

The Complete Works grew from a Theatre in Education company founded in 1999 into a charity and independent school. It works with young people who cannot access mainstream education or need a different structure around learning. TCW is not a conventional single-site school: its Learning Hubs operate across London.

TCW builds a personalised programme for each student. Teaching combines one-to-one and small-group lessons, shaped by needs, history and aims. Its curriculum policy refers to baseline assessment, student aspiration and, where relevant, an EHCP, SEND assessment or referral information. Lessons may take place in a hub, at home, in a library or remotely.

Academic and vocational study sit alongside creativity, wellbeing and personal development. Subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, PSHE, Construction, Cooking and Photography. The registered examination centre supports GCSEs, BTECs, Functional Skills, Entry Level Certificates and Arts Award.

TCW does not accept private referrals. Referrals come through a local authority or current placement; the school distinguishes a consultation from a confirmed referral once funding and placement decisions are agreed. Referrals can be made during the year, with single-roll or dual-roll provision considered alongside need.
