Claremont School

Claremont's history began in 1925 with a prep school founded by M. O'Byrne in Hove. The community moved to St Leonards-on-Sea in 1945, became co-educational in 1982 and expanded at Bodiam in 2011. It now runs from nursery and prep through Sixth Form, with boarding from age 10 and a distinctly international dimension.

The senior curriculum uses a British framework but leaves room for different pathways. Students study English, mathematics and science alongside humanities, business, technology, performing arts and sport. In the Sixth Form, A levels and BTECs sit beside languages and individual guidance for university and careers, giving older students a route that can be academic, practical or a mixture of both.

Specialist programmes are a visible part of school life. The Football Academy combines daily technical and tactical training with academic study, while performing arts brings together drama, dance and music. Equestrian and golf provide other focused pathways. Boarders live in two houses with full or weekly options, supported by evening and weekend activities.

Claremont welcomes applications at different ages subject to places, and the route varies between day, boarding and international entry. Families can tour the school, provide recent information and attend a taster day and complete the relevant assessment before an offer. Boarders can join from age 10, making the residential decision part of the admissions conversation from the start.
