The Branch Christian School

Christian faith and individual progression have shaped The Branch Christian School since it opened in 1994. Dewsbury Gospel Church is the proprietor, and the school’s work from Dewsbury Revival Centre joins education with character, community and a clearly stated religious purpose. Its identity is rooted in a small, faith-led setting rather than in a conventional age-graded secondary model.

The Accelerated Christian Education programme and PACE materials organise the academic route. Core knowledge and skills are sequenced, individualised and revisited as pupils master subject matter, while reading begins in preschool and wider reading is encouraged alongside the programme. The structure allows pupils to work through material at a pace connected to demonstrated understanding.

The school day combines individual study with shared activity. Afternoon work complements ACE through teamwork and practical learning, while continuous assessment follows progress. The accessibility plan sets out ongoing responsibilities around inclusion, access and reasonable adjustment, adding a clear practical dimension to the school’s Christian and educational commitments.

Pupils therefore do not all move through one identical age-led programme. The cumulative route gives learners space to consolidate knowledge and progress through the PACE sequence, while shared activities keep the experience communal. That blend of faith, individual mastery and practical work has remained central to the school’s Dewsbury setting since its foundation.
