Boundary Oak’s history runs from its 1918 foundation in Waterlooville through moves to Widley and, in 1961, to Roche Court near Fareham. Girls joined Reception in 1992, a girls’ boarding house opened in 1996 and the Senior School was added in 2016. The school joined Globeducate in 2023 while keeping its Hampshire campus and established identity.
The current route is co-educational and runs from age 2 to 16, with day and boarding provision. The National Curriculum for England leads from the Early Years Foundation Stage through GCSEs or IGCSEs. In Years 7 and 8, core subjects are joined by languages, humanities, creative arts, outdoor learning and sport; Year 9 adds options such as drama, music, design technology, food and photography before GCSE choices.
The 30-acre Roche Court setting and small classes shape daily life. Specialist teaching and close teacher-pupil relationships sit alongside five hours of Senior School sport each week, with outdoor learning, clubs, trips, drama, music and competitive sport extending the timetable. Boarding is available from 10 to 16, creating a residential community for UK, military and international pupils as the academic route continues towards GCSE or IGCSE.
Day and boarding admissions have different age ranges: day pupils can enter from age 2, while boarding is for ages 10 to 16. International pupils have access to an English as an Additional Language programme and need a UK-based guardian. After a taster day, pupils from Year 4 upwards are invited back for assessment before the school makes a written offer.
